Deputy Director, Conference and Meeting Services

Position Summary: Under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Vice President of Professional Education, the Senior Conference Manager for Meeting Services is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing on AHIP's events, including AHIP annual Institute, smaller conferences ranging from 200-500 attendees, exhibit hall and table top exhibits, and Board and committee meetings. This position ensures the delivery of event experiences that meet or exceed all event goals, exceed the expectations of event attendees, and fulfill the educational objectives of all events within budget.  This position is also responsible for administrative, program and project coordination as well as supports specially assigned projects for the Professional Education Division.  The position is within the Professional Education team, a division of the Public Affairs department which is responsible for marketing and graphics, conferences and education, web and digital strategy, media relations, grassroots and strategic communications.

The position requires strong administrative, project management, and interpersonal skills. The individual should excel working across disciplines and under tight deadlines. Candidate must be a problem-solver. The position requires good communication skills, ability to juggle multiple projects, follow-through and collaborative skills in working with Association staff, member organizations, hotel and convention center staff, vendors, conference event contractors and distinguished speakers.  Must be highly driven, thrive under pressure, and work tirelessly to ensure the smallest detail is complete while raising our events to the next level.

Membership and Professional Services Associate 

Position Summary: Performs a variety of administrative functions to support and assure the orderly functioning of the office of the EVP of Professional Services. Also provides support to the Membership and Insurance Education divisions.  Handles scheduling, telephone calls, correspondence, agendas, reports and travel arrangements for EVP of Professional Services.  Supports membership retention and recruitment activities, including serving as the frontline for telephone and email inquiries received by the Membership Department.   The coordinator is expected to be tactful, discreet, and circumspect in dealing with AHIP members, the public, and staff. Project Associate, Operations

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Senior Operations Manager, the Project Associate is responsible for providing SME (Subject Matter Expert) advice and implementation on best practices to create engaging and interactive eLearning courses, and for transferring content of traditional text based courses into online format using course software tools selected by the Insurance Education Department to complement its Learning Management System. This position will also work closely with the Senior Operations Manager to ensure customer support inquiries are being managed as needed.

Senior Director of Research, Center for Policy and Research 

Position Summary: The Senior Director of Research coordinates multiple projects related to improving the quality and value of health care in the United States. Working under the general direction of Senior Vice President, Private Market Innovations and Director Center for Health Policy and Research, this individual will be responsible for conducting quantitative research on assigned projects.  This position requires training and experience in health economics or health services research including strong quantitative methods and data analysis skills. 

The position analyzes health care data sets (primary and secondary data), develops study design, identifies and applies appropriate quantitative analytic methods, conducts and validates analyses, writes reports and issue briefs and contributes to manuscripts. This position collaborates with and works closely with Research Directors, Research Associates, staff, and interns. Interacts with external project sponsors and collaborators, including government agencies, academic centers, advocacy organizations, and health care organizations.
