Types of Information Requested
Users may visit the website without giving AHIP any personal information. However, users will need to register though to gain access to the member-only content, to customize “Your AHIP” home page or to receive customized information.
AHIP will collect name, title, employer, mailing address, telephone numbers, fax number and email address contact demographic information voluntarily provided by individuals who register on AHIP's website. For individuals who register for conferences or make publications purchases - additional payment-related information will be collected.
How Your Personal Information Is Used
AHIP does not disclose to third parties any information it gathers from the website which could be used to track your individual access and navigation of our site. In order to maintain the integrity of the personal information you provide, we deploy computer encryption technology to protect your information from unauthorized access or release. To defer the costs of bringing you online service, we may at times distribute aggregate information about our users to advertisers or business associates, but we will never individually identify you.
AHIP may use email and street addresses voluntarily provided by site visitors to notify them of updates, products, services or upcoming events. Site visitors who do not wish to receive such notifications via email can choose to opt out of receiving such information at any time so indicating either at time of registration, or upon receipt of any promotional email.
Nonidentifiable website visitor data may be collected and used in the aggregate to help shape and direct the creation and maintenance of content.
Resale or Disclosure of Information to Third Parties
AHIP may from time to time license its industry database to third parties. This industry database consists of health plan company names and addresses and includes the names of company contacts. This information is licensed to database licensees under strict guidelines. The names and addresses of health plan contacts are made available only for the communications that are germane to the managed care community or of interest to health plan professionals as consumers. Email addresses and phone numbers are excluded from such licensing arrangements. AHIP collects this data from an annual survey of health plans, but this data may be supplemented, or updated through information you voluntarily provide when registering for member access to the site, or purchasing a conference or publication.
Cookies
We use cookies on our member website to personalize and customize the experience of our visitors and to support our multiple levels of access to AHIP Online. We also use cookies to better understand how our visitors use the site. A "cookie" is a text file stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. This information helps us to statistically monitor how many people are using our site and for what purpose.
For Members of AHIP Only
By registering for a password and logging on to the member-level areas of the AHIP site, registered members need only enter their user name and password to AHIP Online once, utilizing enabled cookies. For subsequent visits, the website "remembers" your user name and password. This is done by use of a cookie (as explained above). If a user's browser is configured to reject the cookie, they may still use our site. However, the user will be limited to the Guest portions of AHIP Online. We may also use cookies to retrieve certain information to help us determine which features and services are most important to you.
Credit Card Security
Currently, this site collects information (e.g., name, title, employer, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, payment information) voluntarily provided by individuals who register for AHIP conferences or purchase AHIP products online. Sensitive information, such as your credit card number, are encrypted and protected with the encryption software SSL when transmitted to AHIP. Credit card information is not stored or re-used in any manner. Only authorized personnel with specific IDs and passwords can access credit card information solely for the purpose of processing authorized transactions.
E-mail
Messages that you send to us via e-mail may not be secure. AHIP suggests that you do not send any confidential information to us by e-mail. If you choose to send confidential information to us by e-mail, you accept the risk that a third party may intercept your information.
