Healthcare Compliance ProfessionalTM
AHIP has created the Healthcare Compliance Professional (HCP) designation specifically for individuals who work to meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and ensure that their companies meet the parameters of all of the new rules, regulations, and deadlines. From market conduct reviews, MLR, and audits to setting up a compliance program, the educational activities leading up to earning the HCP designation will help you manage your job functions on a daily basis and plan for long-term ACA implementation. We invite anyone whose job is impacted by the ACA or who is responsible for any aspect of compliance to participate in this program.
The HCP designation is acquired by earning a total of 18 credits. Credits are obtained by passing online courses (earn one credit for each course) and by participating in select compliance conferences, workshops, and webinars. Choose the best combination that fits your schedule. Events will be noted as HCP -eligible in the AHIP online event calendar. These courses grant one credit each:
- Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)
- Health Insurance Exchanges and the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
- Understanding Medicare
- Understanding the Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC)
To begin acquiring credits toward earning the HCP designation, register for one of the courses or upcoming events by clicking on the course name, the event below, going to our online event calendar, or by visiting the AHIP Store. After your first applicable registration, we will set up an account for you and keep track of your accumulating credits.
Applicable credit(s) offered by each event are awarded per individual registrations. Recorded webinars may be available for purchase following the initial webinar airing date. By purchasing and viewing a recorded webinar, you or one other registrant may earn half of the number of credits that were offered during the original online event.
The HCP designation must be renewed every two years. Nine credits are required for renewal.
If you have questions about the professional designation program or wish to check your status, send an e-mail to Support@AHIPInsuranceEducation.org or call the Support Team at 800.509.4422.
