America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) is the national association representing nearly 1,300 member companies providing health insurance coverage to more than 200 million Americans. Our member companies offer medical insurance, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, dental insurance, supplemental insurance, stop-loss insurance and reinsurance to consumers, employers and public purchasers.
AHIP provides a unified voice for the community of health insurance plans. A major policy goal for our members is to expand access to high quality, affordable coverage to all Americans. We have developed innovative proposed solutions to promote universal coverage, raise the bar on quality, and make health care services more affordable. AHIP Foundation
AHIP is affiliated with the AHIP Foundation, a legally separate organization exempt from federal income taxes under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The AHIP Foundation's Board of Directors is drawn from the Executive Committee of the AHIP Board. The AHIP Foundation's purpose is to conduct research and education activities related to the health insurance plan industry. -
