Quality Interactions' Refresher Clinical Case Study Courses (1 CME/CEU/CCM)Welcome back! The refresher courses are similar in structure to the two-hour Quality Interactions courses for physicians, nurses and case managers. The refresher program presents one patient case and helps to reinforce the major concepts learned in the two hour course while presenting a new clinical scenario. This evidence-based, case-based learning program is accredited by Tufts University School of Medicine for 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit, 1.0 content hours for nurses, and 1.0 clock hours for Certified Case Managers (CCM). The refresher case study courses are valid for credit until April 1, 2011 Asthma pediatric course: Danny Miller is a 12 year old African American boy who has no medical problems except fairly frequent asthma which can be quite serious, presenting today with his mother on referral from the emergency department. Geriatric, orthopedic course: Mr. Lopez is a 72 year old Mexican-American male with a history of mild hypertension and presenting with complaints of right hip pain for many years. Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) course: Robert Cooper is a 63 year old Native American (Cherokee) and African American male presenting today after two admissions to VA hospitals for CHF exacerbation in the past four months. (only available in CME) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender course: Quan Trinh is a 19 year old Vietnamese-American male who has generally been very healthy, but presents today at his mother's urging due to nagging lower abdominal pain, stomach upset and decreased appetite.
