Virtual Seminar:
Medicare Part D Vaccine Claims SubmissionMonday, November 26
1:30 – 3:00 pm ETThe enactment of Medicare Part D has altered the process for the submission of immunization-related claims for the Medicare population. Before Part D was enacted, all vaccines for that group, including their administration costs, were covered under Part B. Since its enactment, any newly-recommended vaccine for the Medicare population, including the herpes zoster vaccine, is now covered under Part D. Additionally, as of January 1, 2008, administration claims for Part D vaccines will move from Part B to Part D.
Navigating this process has been challenging for many providers and health insurance plans. According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Part D health insurance plans now have four options for submitting immunization-related claims—two in-network options (contracting with specialty pharmacies or reimbursing a retail pharmacy for administering vaccines) and two out-of network options (using an enhanced paper claims submission process or using a web-assisted electronic physician billing system).
Join AHIP for this free virtual seminar, Medicare Part D and Vaccine Claims Submission that will address the revised submission policy for immunization-related claims for Medicare Part D plans, a direct result of the enactment of Medicare Part D.
During this virtual seminar, you will learn what has changed under Part D and why; what options are available to Part D plans for claim submission; what experience some health plans and providers have had in submitting vaccine claims; and more.
