WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 29, 2016 – Marilyn Tavenner, president and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), issued the following statements on the appointments of Dr. Tom Price to the role of Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), and Seema Verma to the role of Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
“For many years, Dr. Price has been committed to ensuring that patients and consumers are well-served. He will bring a balanced and thoughtful perspective to his role as Secretary of HHS.
