WASHINGTON, D.C. – No one should live with pain. But no one should live with the consequences of addiction, either. AHIP commends President Trump and his Administration for their work to combat the opioid crisis. We support additional steps proposed today, including: promoting the use of non-addictive pain medications; preventing the over-prescribing of opioids; ensuring patients have access to effective, evidence-based pain treatment; and supporting recovery for those suffering from addiction.

We will continue to work closely with state and federal leaders to address – and solve – the opioid crisis. This problem requires action, and solutions require collaborative efforts by everyone. By working together, we can make a real difference in our communities.
