Washington, D.C. – Ahead of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s mark-up on 21st Century Cures, AHIP President and CEO Karen Ignagni issued the following statement regarding proposed Medicare Part D changes that would be used as a pay-for as part of the legislative package. AHIP strongly opposes the provision and the bill moving forward with its inclusion.
“We oppose Congress using seniors’ Medicare benefits to offset increased federal spending as part of the 21st Century Cures initiative. We are committed to working with policymakers to ensure that the private Medicare delivery system is not weakened as part of this effort.”
