Core Quality Measure Alignment: In the News

Alignment among public and private payers on quality measures will support new patient-centered changes that improve the way we pay for and deliver health care. A long-standing partnership between health plans, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), providers, consumer and employer groups, known as the Core Quality Measures Collaborative, culminated in the release of seven core sets of quality measures. These streamlined measures are intended to reduce the complexity in reporting for clinicians, decrease overall cost burden, and ensure high-quality care for patients.
