WASHINGTON, D.C. – The vast majority of Americans get their health care coverage through their jobs – and they like what they have. Today, America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) launched a nationwide campaign—called Coverage@Work—to bring employer-provided coverage to the forefront, highlighting the critical role this type of coverage plays in improving Americans’ health and financial security.

Nearly 180 million workers, their families, and American businesses depend on employer-provided coverage for their health and financial protection. The program has evolved into one of the country’s essential lifelines for insurance, with an overwhelming majority of Americans reporting high-satisfaction with their coverage.

Backed by a six-figure advertising budget, the Coverage@Work campaign spotlights the range of programs and services that support ground-breaking innovations to lower costs and improve quality of care for millions of Americans. The campaign urges policymakers to move forward with meaningful policy changes that could further strengthen the employer-provided care system for the benefit of Americans and American businesses of all sizes.

“Coverage through work delivers real value for 180 million Americans. HHS, Congress, the Administration, and state and federal policymakers are looking for solutions that improve the health care system—and employer-provided coverage is a critical part of what’s working today,” said Matt Eyles, AHIP President and CEO. “There is a real need to build on today’s successes to deliver more innovation, better services, and greater benefits for more people.”

Over the next year, the Coverage@Work campaign and advertising effort will highlight innovative partnerships from across the country between health plans, employers, and employees. These partnerships promote prevention health and improve individual wellness and strengthen community health. As policymakers look to scale up new, ground-breaking innovation in care delivery, the programs present a pathway forward for a personalized approach to care.
