Medicare Advantage continues to garner attention from health plan leaders and the market due to the size and anticipated growth in the segment. However, the definition of success varies by market and the levers to achieve outcomes require constant attention and upgrades based on changes from CMS. Shankar Madhavan is the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Product Management for Visiant. Shankar joined Visiant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan during the transition of Ikasystems into Visiant. Shankar was the Director of Business Development and Innovation for the Senior Business Division of Blue Cross Michigan where he was involved in the formation of an division wide innovation practice, several Medicare Advantage operating model improvements and creation of new value accretive strategies to keep BCBSM successful. An experienced strategist and practical leader, Shankar also worked in BCBSM’s corporate strategy division and also as a strategy consultant in a consulting firm. He helped in identifying strategic growth opportunity areas for clients in varied industries such as consumer product goods, financial services and P&C insurance. Shankar also brings several years of technology expertise and client services leadership to Visiant Shankar has an M.B.A from The University of Chicago and M.S in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. When not glued to his laptop he loves spending time with his family outdoors. Exercise and music are his other sources of relaxation.
