Rob Mayer, Vice President, Payment Integrity, Optum

Rob Mayer re-joined Optum as Vice President of Payment Integrity in 2016. Rob is responsible for leading in-depth consulting engagements with health plans across the Nation focused on helping them understand and mature their payment integrity program. In addition, Rob oversees our strategic partner clients and ensures we’re achieving the financial and non-financial goals for both organizations.

Prior to joining Optum in 2016, Rob spent four years working for a large non-profit health plan based in New York City. In that role Rob reported into the CEO and focused on corporate strategy, project design, and business transformation. From 2001 to 2012, Rob worked for Optum, leading various payment integrity departments and consulting teams in the health plan and provider markets


Andy Merrill, Vice President, Optum Payment Integrity R&D

Andy Merrill founded the R&D capability in 2013, and has grown it into a system that now oversees savings activities for all Optum Payment Integrity customers.
As the leader in charge of Optum’s payment integrity strategic innovation portfolio, Andy implements emerging technologies and integrates them with complex existing systems. He is also responsible for new product development as well as establishing and maintaining industry alliances necessary to create those new systems.
Andy brings a mindset of innovation to the projects he leads. He also brings a mix of strategic business thinking, an understanding of complex systems, technical acumen, and years of project implementation experience to build new business offerings.
Prior to joining Optum, Andy was Associate Director, University of Minnesota. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Business Administration in Corporate Strategy from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.
