Sound Advice: Transitioning to Value-Based
Hospital Medicine

  • October 20, 2020
  • 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM ET
  • Online

Fifty percent of Medicare A/B spending takes place in the acute episode of care, and health insurance providers typically have very little insight or control into the care being provided in the hospital. While value-based care is typically focused in the outpatient setting, there is tremendous value in building the right value-based care strategy in the inpatient setting.

In this webinar, we will discuss how hospitalists are uniquely positioned to affect the major drivers of episode spending while improving patient outcomes. Additionally, we will discuss how having an aligned partner in the inpatient setting can lead to reduced readmissions, increased patient satisfaction, improved clinical documentation, and an increase in the use of high-quality networks.

Attendees will learn about:

  • What happens during acute care hospitalizations
  • The role of hospitalists in value-based care
  • Doing value-based care on scale
  • Value-based hospital medicine as a business strategy and ROI
