Long-Term Care Courses And Designations

Now is the perfect time to help your clients prepare for their future. AHIP’s courses will give you an overall understanding of how long-term care insurance coverage works and what LTCI options exist, so you can better serve your clients.

Long-Term Care, Part I (Needs and Options)

Offered in an online format or trainer-assisted workshop setting, this course looks at the growing need for long-term care and helps you understand the role of long-term care insurance in satisfying that need. You’ll explore various payment options, including Medicare and Medicaid, and examine the marketing process—selling, underwriting, and post-sales service—in this detailed industry overview.

Long-Term Care, Part II (Financing)

As the population ages, there is an increasing need for home health care, assisted living, nursing home care, and other forms of long-term care. Offered in an online format or in a trainer-assisted workshop, this course gives you a clearer understanding of the economic impact of long-term care and the variety of ways people pay: reliance on family members, government programs, annuities, reverse mortgages, long-term care insurance, estate planning, gift planning, and ethical considerations overall.

Long-Term Care, Part III (The Product)

Examine the specific provisions long-term care policies often contain and how they can best work. You’ll look at policy design, pricing, and regulation of provisions, such as inflation protection, renewal privileges, restoration of benefit, contingent non-forfeiture benefit, and others. You may take the course online or elect to attend a review workshop.

Long-Term Care, Part IV (Administration and Claims)

You can ensure that you have a well-rounded background on long-term care insurance products and service by acquiring more know-how from this course offered to students in a convenient online format or in a trainer-assisted workshop. You’ll learn the process of claims administration, with a focus on the impact of HIPAA, as well as underwriting, policy issuance, premiums, and reporting.
