Creating Care Delivery Equity

In 2008, Congress passed the Mental Health Parity And Addiction Equity Act. While this was a big step in receiving coverage for treating mental health disorders, there is still work to do. It’s been over a decade since the act was passed and plans are now required to cover care for mental health disorders. However, in order for the act to reach its full potential, it’s essential to not only require care, but to prioritize that mental health is receiving the same “care delivery equity” as physical health.
