Alan Spiro, MD, MBA

Dr. Alan Spiro is a healthcare leader with over 35 years of experience in turning innovative ideas into operational reality. He currently advises cutting-edge companies on clinical, analytic, marketing, management, and operational strategies, helping early-stage companies build sustainable growth systems and facilitating industry relationships. Dr. Spiro's entrepreneurial success is rooted in his expertise at the intersection of patient care, data science, and operations. He has founded several companies that set new healthcare standards, including AIM, the first radiology managed care company, and Accolade, a pioneer in healthcare concierge services. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Medical Officer for Laguna Health, where he helped implement key components for success, leading to significant work with organizations like Elevance and Highmark.

Throughout his career, Dr. Spiro has held leadership roles, including Senior Vice President for Strategy, Data Science, and Analytics at Blue Health Intelligence, and Chief Medical Officer of National Accounts at Anthem. He also served as a Partner at Towers Perrin, advising Fortune 500 employers.

Alan holds an MD from Columbia University, an MBA from Northwestern University, and a BA from New York University. He completed a joint MIT-Harvard Research Fellowship in Nutrition and a Harvard Clinical Fellowship in Gastroenterology.
