Amit Parulekar, Associate Director, Population Health Informatics, joined Humana in 2008. Senior strategist and tech-savvy, thought leader with a track record for developing and managing analytics talent.

Applying critical and strategic thinking to product development, driving innovations, leveraging data and analytics. Direct complex projects and promotes scalable analytics frameworks to drive continued success. Propels strategy around implementing new data science methodologies and selection of new tools.

Previous roles involve working with the data engineering and development team; to build data pipelines, data models, and data environments to drive capture and storage of key data elements, identify trends, and reveal historical KPIs. Spearheaded data governance initiatives, aimed at improving management of terminology sets for categorization and classification; including definition, taxonomies, and data quality standards.

Led analytics team in clinical intelligence and analytics group to support quantitative analysis, building analytic suites, developing predictive models and insights to inform decision making. Amit has a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mumbai. He received his Master in Industrial Engineering from University of Texas and Master in Business Administration from University of Dallas. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Health Informatics with a minor in Population Health Analytics at Indiana University Purdue. He is a technology enthusiast and holds multiple certifications in cloud technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

Amit lives in Louisville, KY with his wife, one daughter and two dogs. He loves listening to tech podcasts and teaching. He taught college courses to non-traditional inmate population/s at various Kentucky penitentiary sites via the Jefferson Community and Technical College system.
