Bobbette Bond

Vice President, Health Policy, UNITE HERE HEALTH

Bobbette is the policy leader for Unite HERE Health, a Taft Hartley Health Plan that provides comprehensive health benefits for 250,000 members in the hospitality industry nationally. She also serves on the Executive Leadership Team for the organization.

Bobbette is also the legislative liaison for the Health Services Coalition and the Culinary Health Fund for the Nevada Legislature, focused on providing a not-for-profit health care payer perspective on community and legislative efforts to improve the health care delivery system in Nevada. Through this role she has spearheaded improvements for Nevada patients in hospital quality, access, and affordability.

Recent Federal accomplishments include advocacy for COBRA funding subsidy as part of the Federal COVID legislation. Recent State accomplishments include Nevada State legislation to prohibit anti-competitive language in hospital contracts, monitoring and reporting of private equity acquisitions, prohibition of surprise medical bills in emergencies, prescription drug transparency and reporting, and transparency regarding PHRMA funded organizations.

As Chair of the Health Services Coalition, Bobbette is a member of the bargaining team negotiating hospital contracts for 240,000 Nevadans in 26 self-funded plans in Southern Nevada. She also founded the ACA Health CO-OP for Nevada.

Bobbette worked in Washington D.C. after graduate school, constructing OSHA grants at the AFL-CIO for employer/union health care committees to address health care issues in their workplace. She also worked at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta and the Clark County Health District on community health initiatives before joining the Culinary Health Fund.

Bobbette holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She and her husband raised 2 daughters in Las Vegas.
