Christina Mills

Senior Director, Inclusive Policy & Advocacy, Anthem, Inc.

Christina Mills recently joined Anthem as the Sr. Director of Inclusive Policy & Advocacy. She comes to us with 23 years of experience in Independent Living and public policy. Christina served as Executive Director of one of the countries few Independent Living Center state associations, California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFILC), and was responsible for seamlessly implementing six statewide programs while also building the capacity of the membership.

While at CFILC she launched a number of state and nationally recognized programs. Youth Organizing (YO!) Disabled & Proud, Digital Access Project and the Disability Disaster Access & Resources program. In doing this she nearly tripled the agencies budget to nearly $8 million which allowed more individuals with disabilities to receive services and supports to live in the community.

Christina served as an appointee of the California Master Plan for Aging (MPA), Stakeholder Advisory Committee, the California Utility Access & Functional Needs Advisory Committee, was a Commissioner of the Advisory Commission on Special Education and Board Member of the California Collaborative for Long Term Services and Supports. She currently holds a position on the board of Disability Rights Education Defense Fund (DREDF).

In 2019, she was honored by the California Association of Area Agencies on Aging (C4A) for her commitment to bridging the gap between the disability and older adult communities.

Christina lives in the Bay Area with her partner/husband, their soon to be eight-year-old son and the spirit/memory of their forever four-year-old daughter, Olivia.
