Derek Skoog is a Partner and leads PC's Health Actuarial & Economics practice, focusing primarily on actuarial issues around financial performance, value-based care, actuarial due diligence, and healthcare financing for payers, providers, and health services organizations.

With experience across all major health insurance lines (Individual, Group, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Stop Loss), Derek provides clients with a broad perspective on financial issues, trends, and opportunities. His recent focus has been on evaluating the value and quality or alternate sites of care Including home and virtual settings.

He has performed actuarial diligence on nearly every large risk-taking health care business over the last several years for strategic and private equity buyers. He has also performed Joint Venture partnership and market entry modeling for several plans and providers.

Derek has recently helped several new entrants build their risk contracts, financial models, and business projections - spanning GPDC/ACO REACH, MSSP, BPCI Advanced, and private payer risk contracts.

Derek also serves as the actuarial audit partner for several health plans, providers, and services companies, reviewing critical balance sheet estimates.
