Jeffrey Zients

Coordinator of the COVID-19 Response and Counselor to the President

Prior to his role as the White House Coordinator of the COVID-19 Response, Jeff Zients was a co-chair to then-Vice President Biden’s transition effort. In the Obama-Biden Administration, Zients served as Director of the National Economic Council, acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and was responsible for spearheading the technology turnaround of healthcare.gov.

Before serving in government, Zients built and led several high performing organizations across a 20-year career in business. He served as Chairman, CEO, and COO of The Advisory Board and Chairman of the Corporate Executive Board. Zients is a co-founder of The Urban Alliance Foundation, a non-profit organization that partners with corporations to provide economically disadvantaged youth with job training. He was chair of the Board of Directors of Children’s National Medical Center and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
