Joseph De Los Santos is a Payment Innovation Program Manager at Blue Shield of California (BSC) where he develops alternative payment models focusing on health equity, episodes of care, maternity care, and hospital quality of care as part of BSC’s Innovation and Transformation agenda. Previously, he worked at the Permanente Medical Group focusing on patient experience projects in primary care and population health. Prior to that, he worked as a Clinical Regulatory Research Coordinator at UC Irvine Health.

Joseph De Los Santos is a Payment Innovation, Program Manager at Blue Shield of California (BSC) where he develops alternative payment models focusing on health equity, episodes of care, maternity care, and hospital quality of care as part of BSC’s Innovation and Transformation agenda. He received BS in Public Health Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and a Master of Health Administration at Cornell University's Sloan Program in Health Administration.

Prior to BSC, Joseph worked at the Permanente Medical Group focusing on patient experience projects in primary care and population health. At UC Irvine Health he worked as a Clinical Regulatory Research Coordinator where he helped providers develop their research in medical device, pharmaceuticals, and quality improvement projects. He also conducted lean six sigma projects focusing on optimizing Operating room efficiency, patient experience projects and led an undergraduate research lab. Outside of Blue Shield of California, Joseph is a Partnership Chair for Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC) for Family House San Francisco, is a member of the HIMSS Student and Early Careerist Task Force and is an Executive Producer of BYOB: The Healthcare Podcast which engages healthcare students and early careerists in healthcare to give tips and tricks, provide advice and expose our audience to the wide variety of career paths in healthcare.
