Laurie Keefer is a Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City where she directs one of 3 subspecialty medical homes for IBD in the country. Her federally funded research portfolio is focused on self-management training for people living with chronic digestive disorders. Dr. Keefer is the founder and Chair of the international GastroPsychology Society through the Rome Foundation where she is also a board member. She invented the GRITT Method, a positive psychology resilience driven training methodology that drove down unplanned health care utilization and improved outcomes at the IBD Center at Mount Sinai.

She co-founded Trellus Health along with Dr. Marla Dubinsky to be able to provide her scientific methodology, now exclusively licensed to Trellus Health, at scale.
