Mark Newsom is a management consultant focusing on health care business and advocacy strategy. He has 20+ years of health care experience and most recently led public policy analysis and regulatory advocacy at Humana.
Mark previously held senior policy and compliance roles at CVS Health and Coventry. On the government side, Mark served in payment policy and data management roles at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and was a senior policy advisor at the Congressional Research Service (CRS) working on the development and passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He began his career as a data analyst supporting the Medicaid program in New York State. Mark holds a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Illinois and completed the Business of Health Care graduate program at Johns Hopkins University.
