Meera Patel-Zook is the Vice President of Pharmacy Operations at Buckeye Health Plan. She’s responsible for overseeing pharmacy and clinical operations and implementing clinical programs. Meera has more than 10 years of experience in managed care, including health plan and government program operational expertise and pharmacy knowledge. Her work spans Medicaid, Medicare and the Health Insurance Marketplace (Exchange).
Meera has been pivotal to the development of Buckeye’s pharmacy initiatives, including a pilot program that expanded the pharmacist’s role in patient care to improve access and health outcomes for people living with chronic diseases. Her expertise has also been critical to Buckeye’s innovative program development to support members living with chronic substance use disorders and severe opioid use disorders.
Prior to joining Buckeye in 2011, Meera practiced in retail pharmacy. She remains active in the community through several charities focused on children. She’s also a member of the Ohio Pharmacist Association (OPA), Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Meera holds a doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) degree from The Ohio State University. Meera loves spending time with her family and friends, being active and traveling.
