As a pharmacist, Ashworth has a keen understanding of the factors that influence health, including social determinants, adherence to treatment and a healthy lifestyle.

Richard Ashworth has spent his career focused on improving the health and well-being of others, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of customers and members. As a pharmacist and healthcare industry leader with three decades of experience, Ashworth has a deep understanding of the many factors that influence health, including physical activity, social determinants, adherence to treatment, and social and mental well-being.

As President and CEO of Tivity Health since June 2020, Ashworth has brought strategic focus to the business, prioritizing growth in SilverSneakers, the leading brand in senior health and fitness, offered by more than 70 Medicare Advantage programs. As CEO, Ashworth has refocused the company on meeting the 18 million seniors eligible for SilverSneakers where they are, with in-person, digital and community fitness options, as well as complementary offerings that promote social engagement and mental enrichment. He is also driving growth in Prime Fitness, an affordable, convenient gym network benefit for adults 18-64 and WholeHealth Living, which offers a network of physical medicine and integrative health practitioners.

Previously, Ashworth facilitated the growth of Walgreens for nearly 30 years, transforming the company into a global leader in pharmacy and health and wellness. He most recently served as President, responsible for the leadership, development and management of all Walgreens operations.

Ashworth is an influential voice in public health policy and the future of healthcare and has shared his views at the White House and on Capitol Hill.

Ashworth earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA).
