Shanna Cox

Associate Director, Division of Reproductive Health, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Shanna Cox serves as the Associate Director for Science, for the Division of Reproductive Health, in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ms. Cox is responsible for the management, monitoring, and evaluation of the Division of Reproductive Health’s expanding and diverse scientific portfolio.

She has published extensively on a wide range of topics, including maternal and infant health, chronic disease prevention and management among persons of reproductive age, contraception access, substance use, and evaluation of the impact of programs and policies. She is an agency expert in health equity, health care services research and use of data to inform quality improvement. Ms. Cox earned dual MSPH degrees in epidemiology and environmental health from the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.
