Zainab Magdon-Ismail

Executive Vice President of Health Care Operations, Moving Analytics

Zainab Magdon-Ismail has more than 20 years of experience in public health, non-profit management and managed care, having served in leadership capacities at the American Heart Association and several health plans. Her forte is fostering collaboration with partner organizations and in transitions of care from pre-hospital to post-acute care. She has worked with a wide range of organizations including the Harvard Prevention and Research Center, The Los Angeles County Department of Health and the Sesame Workshop. Most recently she ran a cardiac rehabilitation innovation project in conjunction with the New York State Department of Health and the CDC, where the goal was to increase referral to rehab, enrollment and adherence.

Prior to working at Moving Analytics she was responsible for population health at The Capital District Physicians' Health Plan and oversaw a unique program, Hospital to Home, where patients and families were guided individually to optimize care after discharge. Zainab received her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and International Development from McGill University, her master's degrees in Education and Public Health from Harvard University and her doctorate in Health Policy and Management from the State University of New York at Albany. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and has authored several papers related to leadership in health care and care delivery. Zainab is a native of Sri Lanka and grew up in Zambia.
