Andrew Weis earned his PharmD from the University of Iowa after a successful career in banking. He is part of a pharmacy family, including his parents and his brother. Together they have over 185 years of practice experience. Andrew’s career in pharmacy started in Binghamton, NY, where he was a Clinical Pharmacist for United Health System. From there, he worked for five years in increasingly responsible positions until he joined CompleteRx in Houston, Texas where he was the division director for clinical pharmacy services and pharmacy quality and accreditation. He came into the pharmaceutical industry in 2001 with Allergan’s Botox division as a Regional Scientific Services Manager. He has worked in industry or managed care since. He served as Regional Account Scientific Associate Director for Novartis, Director of Outcomes Research for Pfizer, and most recently served as division head of Medical Affairs for Cumberland Pharmaceuticals. In 2011, he helped to found a new college of pharmacy at the University of North Texas, where he currently serves as the first appointed adjunct Professor of Pharmacotherapy. He joined Abbott Diabetes Care in 2019 as Medical Outcomes Manager, focusing on managed care client needs for health economics and outcomes research information.
