Dan is the Director of Government and Business Relations, Government Programs, at UPMC Health Plan. He is responsible for developing regional and local partnership opportunities such as initiatives for those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and housing-related partnerships for Health Plan members. He also leads UPMC Health Plan’s LGBTQ Leadership Advisory Group, its program development and related initiatives. Prior to joining UPMC Health Plan, Dan was one of the youngest nominees to run for Congress in the United States in 2014. Dan led the recent merger of United Way of Butler County with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. He serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania where he is the Chairman of the Butler County Local Operating Board, the United Way of Pennsylvania and Community Human Services. Dan was recently named as one of Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 under 40 and as Managed Healthcare Executive’s “10 Emerging Leaders” in 2019.  He earned a Masters of Science in Health Care Policy and Management from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009.  He lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife, Terrina, and daughter, Kalea.
