Dr. Dick Creager graduated from the University Of Utah College Of Medicine and is board certified in Emergency Medicine. Consistent with his interest in public affairs he also has a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Utah College of Public Policy and Administration. Dr. Creager practiced emergency medicine in New York, Utah and the Navajo Nation.
While practicing clinically he served as principal investigator for multiple phases 2 and 3 pharmaceutical studies conducted in emergency and urgent care settings. In 2003 Dr. Creager became medical director of Medical Review Institute of America, an independent review organization, where he supervised a panel of over 500 physicians and was responsible for all clinical affairs and quality management. After MRIoA he was Chief Medical Officer of HealthCare Insight, where data analytics were used to ensure health care payment integrity and detect fraud, waste and abuse for many of the nation’s largest insurance carriers.
In 2012 Dr. Creager joined CVS Health. He has served as Chair of the Clinical Quality Committee and currently provides clinical support for PBM and Retail Controlled Substance Safety and Utilization programs. He also serves on the Health Care Reform Committee.
