Dr. Doug Jacobs is the Chief Medical Officer and first Chief Innovation Officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS). In this role, his three main priorities are moving the state’s health system towards value, mitigating the social determinants of health, and promoting health equity. He helps oversee the state’s Medicaid program, which covers approximately 3 million Pennsylvanians. Dr. Jacobs is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician and he continues to see patients as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
