As the Digital Channel Manager at Independence Blue Cross (Independence), Erin Thurston is accountable for marketing the Individual under-65 products to consumers through online tactics. In this capacity, she is directly responsible for developing and executing paid search and paid social campaigns, as well as search engine optimization efforts. Additionally, Erin manages IBX Wire, an innovative member communication tool powered by Relay. Launched in 2013, IBX Wire is helping redefine the consumer experience through proactive outreach to address gaps in care, inform members about lower-cost alternatives to high-cost utilization behaviors, and more. Erin joined Independence in April 2011 as a Customer Relationship Management Analyst and moved into the Consumer Marketing department in March 2013. Ms. Thurston has a B.S. in Business Administration and a MBA from California University of Pennsylvania. While earning her undergraduate degree, Erin played basketball on a team that won the NCAA Division II National Championship (’04).
