Virginia (Ginger) Cabrera, LICSW is the Clinical Supervisor at Woodley House, Inc. which provides supportive housing and recovery support services each year to over 300 adults with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders in the District of Columbia. In this role, Ginger supervises the recovery and community support services staff at Woodley House to ensure delivery of quality clinical services in compliance with regulatory guidelines. Ginger coordinates training for the support services staff and works directly with staff to provide oversight of clinical services for residents in all Woodley House programs that include Residential Crisis Stabilization, Supported Residential (CRF) Homes, Permanent Supportive Housing, and Supported Independent Living Apartment program. Prior to joining Woodley House, Ginger served as the Senior Director for Mental Health at SOME (So Others Might Eat), and has over 20 years’ experience working with nonprofits in the District providing behavioral health services for individuals struggling with mental health, substance use, and homelessness. Ginger received her Masters of Social Work from Catholic University in Washington, DC and Bachelors of Arts from Smith College in Northampton, MA; she is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Ginger has lived and worked in Washington, DC for over 20 years now and has a special interest in clinical supervision for individuals working with clients with serious mental illness (SMI).
