Julie Cannariato is a senior consultant with Sellers Dorsey. Before joining Sellers Dorsey, Julie was Policy Director for the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services, and previously served as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Division. Ms. Cannariato lead the Division’s policy and implementation work for its 1115 Demonstration renewal, its Medicaid Innovator Accelerator innovation and integration efforts, including Value-Based purchasing efforts, its work on the Community Support Services and Co-occurring Developmental Disabilities & Mental Health Conditions, and its work under First Lady Tammy Murphy’s Nurture NJ maternal and infant health campaign.
Before those roles, she held positions at the Center for Health Care Strategies and as a Senior Healthcare Analyst for Optum and a Senior Budget Examiner for New York State Division of the Budget in the Health and Mental Hygiene Unit. She has considerable operational experience working with government, nonprofit, and private sector stakeholders on Medicaid finance, delivery, managed care, data analytics, and other related federal and state health policy issues.
Ms. Cannariato has a master’s degree in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a master’s degree in Health Services Management and Policy from the New School in New York. She has a bachelor’s of fine arts in Communications from Long Island University. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her three children and boating with her husband.
