Vice President, Medicare Operations,
Joya Bond serves as Vice President, Medicare Operations. In this role, which she assumed in July 2019, she is responsible for enrollment and billing, claims, appeals and grievances, member contact center and operations optimization for Florida Blue Medicare.
Joya has decades of experience in the health care industry. Prior to joining the GuideWell enterprise, she was Associate Vice President of Medicare Operations for Molina Healthcare Inc., which serves nearly five million people covered by government programs, including Medicaid, Medicare and the ACA, across 15 states. In that role, she partnered with corporate leadership to oversee and manage the company’s Medicare operations, including operational and sales compliance, centralized appeals and grievances, program management and member materials. She also led operational and clinical initiatives focused on improving Molina’s Medicare Star ratings.
Prior to joining Molina, Joya served as Vice President, Operations for Dynamic Healthcare Systems, a comprehensive technology solutions organization providing enterprise software and business solutions for government-sponsored health plans. She also served as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Easy Choice Plan (later purchased by WellCare Health Plans) and, earlier in her career, held progressively responsible roles for United Healthcare/PacifiCare Health Systems.
Additionally, Joya was Chairman of the Board and Vice President for S.I.S.T.E.R Society Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk girls and young women.
Bond holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Phoenix, Southern California.
