Matthew Penwell has over 25 years of healthcare and consulting experience. He has a proven track record in helping organizations innovate, drive efficiency, and improve business outcomes. As the Staff Vice President of Digital Solutions at Anthem, he is responsible for the growth and development of a world-class digital organization. Leveraging his expertise in healthcare, product management, and enterprise solutions, his team is accountable for the strategy and growth of our consumer digital channels.
Before joining Anthem, Matt was the Executive Vice President of Health Solutions at Tictrac (a UK-based health engagement company that engages people in their health through their unique data). As a key member of the senior leadership team, he ensured the organization developed and implemented strategic and tactical business plans designed to deliver differentiated value, service, and results to their customers (the world’s leading healthcare and insurance companies).
Matt also spent over 12 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina as the Director of Digital Marketing, Strategy and Solutions. Matt was accountable for both creating and executing the enterprise digital strategy. He worked with business leaders and the executive leadership team to determine strategic priorities and direction of their digital channels and programs.
Matt’s career started in IT consulting, where he held several senior-level positions with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Dimension Data, and American Management Systems.
Matt has a business degree from James Madison University.
