Randy Pate is a Deputy Administrator at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Director of the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO). In his role, Randy leads CMS’ work on the individual and small group markets, including the Health Insurance Exchanges.
Prior to joining CMS, Randy was Vice President of Public Policy at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC). Randy spent nearly a decade working on Capitol Hill, at public policy think tanks, and in the executive branch, including a stint at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services during the George W. Bush Administration.
Randy holds bachelor and law degrees from The University of Alabama and received his Masters in Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
