Ribera Salud partnered with the government of Spain to manage patient care for the Health Districts of Torrevieja, Denia and Vinalopó. It created an integrated healthcare organization made up of primary care centers, multidisciplinary care teams, and hospitals. Each patient is assigned a general practitioner and a nurse who are responsible for providing and coordinating care, patient education, and prevention activities. General
practitioners and nurses act as primary healthcare providers and refer patients to specialists and community services as appropriate. More than 700,000 patients access Ribera Salud healthcare services every year.
