About This Webinar

A newly commissioned study conducted by Milliman in the traditional Medicare population found that nearly 70% of anxiety and insomnia patients are treated with prescription drugs only, and less than 10% receive the psychotherapy, which is indicated as first-line care. This webinar will discuss the study findings and offer perspectives on moving beyond medication to address critical gaps in behavioral health care.

Bringing together perspectives from psychology, psychiatry and health economics, this webinar will examine current treatment patterns among traditional Medicare beneficiaries, gaps in current reimbursement policies and the potential of digital treatments.

Attendees Will Learn About

  • Key findings from the new Milliman study including treatment patterns in traditional Medicare, specifically 65+ and underserved populations and those eligible due to disability or end stage renal disease (ESRD) status
  • Risks and issues surfaced by the study based on current medication prescription patterns
  • Current gaps in reimbursement policies that may lead to greater dependency on pharmacotherapy
  • How digital treatments could augment the current standard of care and lessen reliance on medication
