About This Webinar

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is the epidemic behind the pandemic. Currently, 20% of U.S. deaths are attributed to tobacco, alcohol and other drugs; and risky substance use & addiction are currently the largest preventable causes of death. In 2021, more than 16 million Americans were living with a disease caused by smoking, and cost for treatment continues to rise, while relapse rates are high.

In this webinar, we'll focus on the three big issues driving this epidemic: Lack of care access, insufficient care quality, and health equity issues surrounding addiction, with a specific focus on how health insurance providers can help their employee clients stem the tide of addiction.

Attendees Will Learn

  • What COVID taught us about the accelerating SUD epidemic
  • How Social Determinants of Health influence the prevalence of addiction
  • How the cost of addiction is impacting health insurance providers and their employer clients
  • The three elements that make up the gold standard in treatment
