Senior Vice President, Federal Affairs, AHIP

Aron Griffin is Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs for America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), the national trade association representing health insurance providers. In this role, he is responsible for advocating for federal policies that improve health care affordability, choice, and value for all Americans.

Griffin has more than 20 years of experience in health care policy. He previously served as Head of the Washington Office for Tenet Healthcare, a Fortune 140 health care company with 70 hospitals, more than 500 outpatient facilities, and 115,000 employees.

Earlier in his career, Griffin served in various posts for the U.S. House of Representatives. As a staff member for the House Education and Workforce Committee under Chairman John Boehner (R-OH), Griffin directed the panel’s health care portfolio, including hearings, mark-ups, and policy development. He also served as Legislative Director and health policy adviser to Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX), a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee; and as health policy advisor to Rep. Bill Archer (R-TX), a former Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

After his time on Capitol Hill, Griffin worked with a Washington-based lobbying firm, representing health systems and health insurers before Congress and the administration.
