Carey Officer is the Vice President, Service Delivery Innovation of Nemours’ Center for Health Delivery Innovation at Nemours Children’s Health where she provides critical leadership for a team that develops digital tools and designs processes that focus on making healthcare simpler through effective and efficient communication, innovative care delivery and frictionless transaction processes making the consumer experience a priority.

She led the launch of the telehealth program in 2015, which now is offered in all specialties across the enterprise and she led the launch of the Nemours App in the midst of COVID-19, a single portal that provides parents access to care including appointments, telehealth visits, paying and understanding bills, and care trackers assigned by clinicians that assist in the management of various conditions such as asthma or post-surgery tracking for babies with congenital heart defects.

Nemours Children’s Health is one of the largest integrated pediatric health systems in the country including powering the world’s most-visited website for information on the health of children and teens, KidsHealth.org. Everything we do — our medical care, research, education, and prevention and advocacy efforts — is focused on kids. Our goal is to help children, everywhere, grow into healthy adults. To do this, we think of health as more than just medicine. Good health involves education, food, housing, family stability, emotional well-being, equity, justice and more. That’s why we go outside of our walls to reach kids where they live, learn and play. We’re here, beyond medicine.

Carey joined Nemours in 2011 as a Senior Strategic Financial Planning Consultant. Carey has more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry, including strategy, financial and operational consulting serving large not-for-profit and for-profit health care systems. Carey received her bachelors’ degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Certificate of Excellence in Digital Strategy from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. She is the Chair for Leadership Florida Northeast Regional Council, serves on the Board of BioFlorida and has served as a Board Member of the Jacksonville Chamber Health Council.
