With 12 years as a practicing board-certified internist and over three decades on the administrative side of healthcare, Dr. DeShazer stands out with his extensive experience in informatics, quality improvement, and health plan operations. Most of his career was spent with Kaiser Permanente, where he dedicated 15 years, leading efforts to redesign primary care, implement electronic record systems and improve quality.
He has also held multiple C-Suite positions including CMIO for an integrated delivery system, CQO for a 12-hospital network, and CMO for the fourth-largest Blues plan. Most recently, as the Global Director of Clinical Products at Google, Dr DeShazer spearheaded global strategies for clinical care software, emphasizing advanced features leveraging Generative AI. He graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Illinois Hospital.
