Daniel Cusator, MD, MBA

Dr. Cusator has worked in the health insurance industry for 10 years and held senior leadership positions in health care for over 20 years. At BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Dr. Cusator is responsible for providing clinical and analytical insight to identify and implement solutions to address medical cost, utilization, and quality for self-funded BlueCross customers in the Nashville and West Tennessee regions.
He’s a key member of the Sales and Account Management teams working consultatively with top commercial clients to meet customer needs and improve member service. He also collaborates with providers in value-based contracts to improve quality and efficiency. Prior to joining BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Dr. Cusator held numerous leadership roles at organizations such as Willis Towers Watson Health and Benefits, Innovare Healthcare Consulting and Providence. He holds an MBA from UC Irvine, an MD from UCLA, a Doctorate of Medicine from David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, and a BA, Pharmacology from UC Santa Barbara.
