Vice President, Clinical Pharmacy, UPMC Health Plan
Dr. Culley is responsible for leading the UPMC Clinical Pharmacy Department that includes the Care Management, Medication Therapy Management, and Specialty Pharmacy teams as well as the product-specific Line of Business department. These teams are responsible for developing pharmacy strategies, evaluation of clinical pharmacy programs, and improving overall plan performance both for cost and quality.
Before joining UPMC, Dr. Culley was the Vice President of the Evolent Health Pharmacy Services enterprise and has held leadership positions at one of the Nation’s largest Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. With over 25 years of pharmacy experience, he has managed multiple aspects of prescription drug benefits for Employee, Commercial, Exchange, Medicare, and Medicaid lines of business. This includes formulary management, establishing quality programs, strategic planning, managing specialty pharmacy for both the drug and medical benefits, operations, new sales generation, as well as client management with profit and loss responsibility.
