Karen brings two decades of demonstrated success in leadership roles spanning healthcare provider operations, product development, and consulting. Most recently Karen led the enterprise strategy for patient access operations and technology at Providence Health System, and the transformation of those strategies to actionable and scalable solutions across the large multi-state and diverse organization. This included leading the design of innovative patient access digital solutions, utilizing Microsoft Dynamics CRM, enterprise provider directories, and the visioning for digital/online access tools to replace manual workflows. Karen also created and provided executive leadership for the virtual Patient Engagement Center with a modern and creative approach for people, process, and omnichannel technology for contact center operations.
Prior to her role with Providence, Karen was an external consultant working with healthcare providers and medical groups across the country to improve the patient experience and financial performance through patient access and revenue cycle services and technology.
Her experience and passion for patient access transformation is augmented with a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin.
