Leah Smith

Director, Public Policy, Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA)

Leah Smith is the Director of Public Policy at Commonwealth Care Alliance, a not-for-profit, integrated care system influencing innovative models of complex care nationwide. Leah leads CCA’s responses to federal and state public comment opportunities and facilitates CCA’s policy agenda, focused on improving the health and well-being of people with significant needs.

Previously, Leah focused on initiatives to advance integrated care for individuals dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid and those in need of long-term services and supports as a Program Officer at the Center for Health Care Strategies and as a Policy Analyst at Long-Term Quality Alliance. Leah also brings state-level policy experience in her home state of North Carolina, and her work is shaped by working directly with seniors and adults with disabilities. Leah holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
