Linda Cahn is the founder and head of Pharmacy Benefit Consultants, a nationwide consulting company that decreases client costs by drafting and negotiating far better PBM contracts during PBM RFPs and eliminating the dozens of “loopholes” that allow PBMs to overcharge clients.
The firm also provides ongoing services to clients after contracts are executed to take advantage of the unique contract terms that the firm puts in place, including among other matters, the client’s right (i) to obtain drug-by-drug “net cost” information (factoring in rebates); (ii) to use this information to customize the client’s Formulary to eliminate unnecessary, high cost drugs and customize its Prior Authorization, Step Therapy and Quantity Limit Programs; and (iii) to exercise quarterly rights to renegotiate and improve 1,400+ drug-by-drug Specialty Drug Guarantees.
Ms. Cahn has also met with and advised the staffs of U.S. Senate Committees, testified before state legislatures about the PBM marketplace and provided extensive information about PBMs to numerous media outlets, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Barron’s and National Public Radio. She is a graduate of Princeton University and Hofstra Law School, both with honors, and is a member of the state bars of New York and New Jersey.
